Signal Rex announces Ylistys, the forthcoming split release from Finland’s ALKEMISTI and VICTIMARUM, due for release this autumn on CD and vinyl LP.

Two relatively young names within the Finnish black metal underground, ALKEMISTI and VICTIMARUM have nevertheless established distinctly different identities in a short period of time.

Hailing from Helsinki, ALKEMISTI first emerged in 2024 with the three-track demo Ajan ja tilan rajamailla. In 2026, the band returned with Perkeleen Tie, their side of the Teufelspakt - Perkeleen Tie split with Germany’s Totensturm, further developing their “black metal from the depths unknown” across three new tracks.

VICTIMARUM were formed in Turku in 2022 and moved quickly. Their self-released Demo 2023 appeared the following year, soon followed by Tyhjyyden Roviolla, whose second track was a cover of Horna’s “Kuoleva Lupaus”. After the standalone track Tulenkantaja in 2025, VICTIMARUM delivered their debut full-length Seitsemän soihdun valossa through Signal Rex in October of that year.

Now both bands meet on Ylistys.

Rather than simply placing two unrelated recordings beside one another, the split brings together two different expressions of a common tradition. ALKEMISTI approach it through rawness, melody and the obscure atmosphere already present in their earlier material, while VICTIMARUM continue along the colder and more direct path established across their previous recordings.

ALKEMISTI / VICTIMARUM - Ylistys will be released by Signal Rex this autumn on CD and vinyl LP.
